WIPO SEEKING PRESENTERS FOR ROADSHOW IN SAN JOSE
SVIPLA is pleased to be working with WIPO in soliciting for presenters at the WIPO/USPTO Roadshow on October 31, 2016 to San Jose.
See below for presenter submission information.
WIPO specifically wants suggestions for local panel members on the four topics shown below. In other words, They are seeking four local practitioners, one for each topic. Practitioners may be local firm attorneys or local in-house counsel.
1. Global Intellectual Property Systems: Protecting your inventions internationally using the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT)
2. Global Intellectual Property Systems: The Hague System; a Simplified Application Process for Obtaining “Registered 3. Designs” (or, “Design Patents”), for the Protection of Industrial Designs in many International Jurisdictions
3. Global Intellectual Property Systems: The international registration of trademarks, using the Madrid System
4. How WIPO Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services (Which Provide Alternatives to Conventional Court Actions) May Be Used to More Efficiently Settle IP Disputes
There is to be a presentation by each person on each panel (WIPO/USPTO/practitioner, in that order), followed by Q/A. The practitioner would make a presentation, answer questions, and engage other panel members on how/when to use the respective WIPO program, and when is it a good value to do so (i.e., a real-life perspective for the topic).
Please forward a recommended presenter name and bio, preferably by September 30, to Angela Murch, SVIPLA Program Chair, firstname.lastname@example.org. All received names/bios will be sent to the WIPO committee for consideration.
Feel free to forward this message to other groups or counsel. Thank you.
